Today we watched a documentary on the Homestead Strike in which the claim was made that the Homestead strike was the nation's bloodiest labor conflict in history. Some would claim that a labor dispute in Colorado nearly a hundred years ago was even deadlier...
A small prize to the student that first identifies the Colorado event that I'm referring to and gives a brief (two or three sentence) summary of what happened. Your findings must be posted in a comment under this posting.
Good luck!

Could this event perhaps be the Ludlow massacre?
The Ludlow massacre occurred in Ludlow Colorado on April 20th, 1914, Ludlow, a mining colony with about 1200 miners and their families, were attacked by the Colorado National Guard, after a day of fighting 2 women, 12 children, 6 miners and a National Guardsmen were killed. In retialation to the fighting, strikers armed them selves and began attacking mines, along the way they also had conflicts with groups of guardsmen. By the end of the conflict 45 people had suffered, including women and children.
I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludlow_Massacre for my research.

My Grandpa took part in the Ludlow massacre. He was a miner.
